On March 4, 2025, Alissa Folendorf (Ms. F to many), 36 of Angels Camp, visited the emergency room in Sonora and received a diagnosis that would forever change her life. She was diagnosed with leukemia, and was then transferred to UCSF where she underwent a week of testing to determine which type of leukemia it was, as well as come up with a treatment plan to fight it. The final diagnosis was Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia with signs of it in her brain and central nervous system, as well as markers for Chronic Myeloid Leukemia.
In the last 70 days, Alissa has been in the hospital for 55 of them, with her first hospital stay being 35 days. Her treatment plan includes chemo therapy, bone marrow biopsies, oral medications, blood transfusions & platelets as needed. In July, she will be undergoing a bone marrow transplant that will keep her hospitalized for one month. During that stay, she will be receiving chemo therapy and radiation twice a day. Her recovery from the bone marrow transplant will be 24/7 care, for 100 days after being released from the hospital.
We are selling raffle tickets to Fight with Folendorf. 100% of funds will be given to Alissa to help with medical expenses, living expenses and loss of income during this difficult time.
Tickets are $25 each, or 5 for $100 and you choose your prize. Your choice is between a $500 gift card redeemable at either Angels Food Market or Sierra Hills Market, or a 40’ Super Cruiser Rental from New Melones Lake Marina.
